Hi, my name is Mat and welcome to my Education Blog

The purpose of this blog will be to make regular entries based on the reflections I've made through my learning journey in the Adult Education Program at Brock University.

The context from which I am starting is the course entitled; Learning in the Digital Context.  The themes explored will relate to distance learning but not exclusively limited to that as many concepts and ideals may apply in different learning environments.  

As for some of my background, I have been an instructor for a number of year now but really wanted to perfect my craft so this degree program really appealed to me as a way to better myself as a facilitator/instructor by broadening my views on learning, explore new possibilities and provide me with a multitude of tools that allows more flexibility, adaptation as the facilitator but also increases participation and interaction and engagement from the learners. 

Most associate learning with schools but learning occurs all around us, all the time and that's why I strongly believe that learning is very important as we are constantly learning new things in our everyday lives and because when someone is depending on you to help him learn something you should be equipped with the best possible tools to facilitate that learning process.
